Dominque "SonicFox" McLean has claimed a lot of victories this year, and now he can add one more "best" to his 2018.

On December 6, SonicFox was named the Best Esports Player of the Year at The Game Awards. The prestigious honor is well-deserved as our resident Furry has worked his tail off to build upon his legacy as the GOAT. He took 1st place in Dragonball Fighterz at multiple tournaments including Combo Breaker, VS Fighting, Canada Cup, CEOtaku, Dreamhack Austin, Eastcoast Throwdown and Northwest Majors. On the biggest stage of all, our Fighting Fox came out on top when he took down his rival G01 at EVO to be crowned the best DBFZ player on the planet.

Dominating one game was not enough to become the Best Esports Player of 2018. Sonic Fox took first in Soul Calibur VI at Canada Cup in October. In November, Sonic repeated as Injustice 2 champion at the IJ2 Pro Series Championship and then donated part of his winnings to his opponent's Father's medical bills as he battles cancer.

The Game Awards naming Sonic Fox Best Esports Player of 2018 is a fitting finish for the furry fox, and in typical Sonic Fox fashion, he made the most of the moment. Check out his acceptance below:
